Preparing for Your EMGS Medical Checkup: How to Pass Without Delays
Under Malaysian immigration law, every foreign student entering the country on a Student Pass must undergo and pass a mandatory post-arrival health screening. Learning how to pass EMGS medical is essential for ensuring your physical Student Pass sticker is successfully endorsed.
At ACE Language Centre, our international student welfare team accompanies newly arrived students to authorized panel clinics located near our Mont Kiara and Subang Jaya campuses.
1. What Tests Are Conducted at the Panel Clinic?
- General Physical Examination: Blood pressure, pulse, height, weight, vision, and clinical history check.
- Chest X-Ray: Screening for pulmonary tuberculosis (TB) and active lung infections.
- Blood Testing: Screening for Hepatitis B (HBsAg), HIV, Hepatitis C, and VDRL/Syphilis.
- Urine Testing: Screening for narcotics, opiates, cannabis, and pregnancy (for female students).
2. Crucial Tips for Test Day
- Fasting: While EMGS does not require a 12-hour strict fast, drinking plenty of water ensures easy urine sampling and prevents false protein positives.
- Bring Your Original Passport: Clinics will refuse to examine any candidate without their original physical passport.
- Avoid Heavy Medications: If taking prescription medications, bring an English medical letter from your physician.
- ACE Welfare Chaperone: An ACE student welfare officer accompanies your group to handle clinic registration and documentation.
